Dr: Juan Jesús Llambías Peláez, Provincial Director of Hygiene and Epidemiology in Camagüey
Camagüey, Aug 27.- After more than one hundred days without positive COVID-19 cases in the community, the province of Camagüey reported in the part closed on August 26, a patient with the disease, detected in the municipality of Florida.
As explained by Dr. Juan Jesús Llambías Peláez, provincial director of Hygiene and Epidemiology, it is a 27-year-old pregnant woman, who was diagnosed as a result of the surveillance system of the Public Health sector in the territory.
So far, the source of infection has not been identified and 41 direct contacts and 62 secondary contacts have been isolated in the centers authorized for this, where the PSR test is performed to rule out the presence of the new coronavirus.
Dr. Llambías pointed out that sanitary measures are being reinforced and recommended greater use of the virtual auto-searcher by the population in case of noticing any symptoms. (Text and photo: Yamylé Fernández)
