At the close of yesterday, April 19, 3,232 patients are admitted to hospitals for clinical epidemiological surveillance. Another 7 thousand 59 people are watched in their homes, from the Primary Health Care.

For COVID-19, 1,616 cases were studied, resulting in 52 positive samples. The country accumulates 28 thousand 598 samples and thousand 087 positive (3.8%). Therefore, at the close of yesterday, 52 new cases were confirmed, for a cumulative of 1,087 in the country.

Of the 52 new confirmed cases, 51 were Cuban and a foreigner (Bolivia). Of these, 35 were contacts of confirmed cases, 16 did not specify the source of infection and one had contact with travelers from abroad.

Of the 52 diagnosed cases, 25 were women for 48.1% and 27 men (51.9%). 32.6% (17) of the positive cases were asymptomatic.

Of the total number of diagnosed cases (52), the most affected age groups were: 40 to 60 years with 28 cases (53.8%), followed by those under 40 with 19 cases (36.5%).

77-year-old Cuban citizen, resided in the Contramaestre Municipality, Santiago de Cuba. History of ischemic heart disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, hypertension and senile dementia.
